KSENIJA LUKIC

Ksenija Lukic, born in Serbia, studied voice and Italian language and literature in her homeland. Further studies took her to Siena and to the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin. As a lyrical and coloratura soprano she has been heard in nearly 60 roles (including Susanna, Mysette, Lauretta, Saffi and Rosalinde) in German opera houses, has frequently been a guest soloist at Festivals (Berliner Festwochen, Salzburg, Edinburgh, World Music Days in Seoul, Biennale Berlin, EXPO Hannover, Huddersfield and Strasbourg), and has appeared at the Berlin Philharmonie, Gewandhaus Leipzig, Cologne Philharmonie, Konzerthaus Vienna and at the Auditorio Nationale in Barcelona and Madrid.

In the realm of new music Ksenija is much sought after as a soloist. Her many recordings include new and classical music. The recording of the opera "Wenn Sardkei auf Reisen geht" von E. Krenek, in which she sings the title role, was awarded the prestigious Echo-Klassik Prize of 2007.
