DAMIR BACIKIN
While studying trumpet at the Academy of Arts in his native city of Novi Sad, Damir Bacikin
began his professional career in the opera orchestra at the Serbian Theater House.
At the same time, he started playing at Wojvodina Philharmonic Orchestra,
Big Band Radio Novi Sad and Ensemble for New Musik "Silard Mesei." After graduating at the
top of his class he was accepted to Hochschule fuer Musik "Hanns Eisler" where he completed
his studies with Prof. William Forman, and where he performed as a soloist with Symphonic Wind
Orchestra. Damir regularly peforms with the soloist ensemble Kaleidoskop, the Berliner Chamber Opera
and the ensemble for new music United Berlin. In addition, he has been a guest trumpeter of the
Konzerthaus Orchester, Stadttheater Brandenburg, Stadt Orchester Frankfurt/Oder and has performed
in theater works at Volksbuehne and Berliner Ensemble. Recently, he joined the Arzet Quintet Berlin,
which is focused on contemporary music.
